EX-BRISBANE Broncos Holden Cup player Josh Coyle and his St Gaudens teammates are heading for France’s elite competition.
After five seasons in the FFR XIII Elite 2 competition, St Gaudens have announced they will be returning to the Elite 1 competition for the 2016-17 season.
The Gold Coast-raised Coyle has been a member of the St Gaudens team since arriving in France ahead of the 2012-13 season.
Semi-finalists in the Elite 2 competition this season, St Gaudens have a proud history, and plan to continue that in Elite 1 under the watch of ex-French international and former Toulouse Olympique XIII coach Gilles Dumas.
St Gaudens is the former club of Canberra Raiders forward Jeff Lima, ex-Super League second rower Chris Beasley and Toulouse Olympique and Limoux Grizzlies winger Adam Innes.
The club’s return will see the Elite 1 competition feature 10 teams, who will each play 22 matches during the regular season before the finals.
More information about the club can be found at their Facebook page.
